Poron Chao the current King of the small nation of Parancho located in the Free Cities Alliance and younger brother of Pitten Chao. He is the main protagonist of the game Kaeru nyo Panyon, which follows his ascension to the throne.
A mild mannered and timid young man, Poron has very little confidence in himself and generally prefers allowing others to make decisions for him. Despite this, he is also both incredibly kindhearted and intelligent, qualities that make him an excellent ruler despite his age.

When his father, Peperon Chao held a contest between his two sons to determine who his successor would be by having both search the world for a rare item to bring back to the Kingdom, Poron made little effort to win, instead traveling through the fairly peaceful forests south of Parancho in hopes of avoiding major conflict. However, after meeting a mysterious wizard who promised to give him a rare item, Poron was cursed into being turned into a Panyon, a rabbit-like creature with the power to attract monsters. Rendered nearly helpless and swarmed by monsters, Poron was miraculously saved by seven young female mercenaries, who agreed to protect him on his journey back to Parancho and help him find a cure for his curse.
With the support of his friends and family, Poron is crowned King of Parancho.
After returning to Parancho, Poron found that Pitten had forcefully usurped their father and taken over the Kingdom, forcing Poron and his new allies to defeat him. It was then revealed that Poron was always seen as the ideal successor to their father and that both the succession challenge and Pitten's apparent betrayal were part of a plan to make Poron gain more faith in himself. Following this, Poron was crowned King of Parancho and freed from his curse.
At some point, Patton Misnarge arrived in Parancho during his travels, where he was taken in by the royal family and made fast friends with Poron, Pitten and their father. Poron agreed to support Patton in his war effort against the Helman Empire, where he sent his older brother in as a reinforcement commander.
He is confirmed to appear in Rance X.
Abilities[]
Poron is an amazingly talented martial artist.
Contrary to his frail and gentle appearance, Poron is actually an incredibly skilled martial artist. Possessing a skill level of 2 in Unarmed Combat and a level cap of 50 which he reached, he is one of the greatest fist fighters currently living, to the point of surpassing even seasoned martial artists such as Patton Misnarge in pure skill. His talent for fighting is so great that he grapples with Dekants, gigantic and incredibly powerful monsters known for their physical strength, as a daily training exercise.
Despite his prodigious talent for combat, Poron prefers practicing as a Priest. He is quite skilled at Divine Magic and is capable of using it for impressive feats such as freezing his enemies in place, doubling his speed and healing all of his allies.
Poron is rendered weak and defenseless when in his panyon form.
When cursed into the form of a Panyon, however, Poron's skill severely dropped, losing almost all of his physical strength while also naturally attracting monsters. In this form, Poron had to rely almost entirely on the assistance of others to survive monster encounters, though he was still capable of performing Divine Magic, giving him some application in battle.
Besides his physical prowess, Poron was recognized by both his brother and father as being the ideal successor for King due to his natural intelligence allowing him to be a competent ruler as well as a compassionate one. Since becoming King he has succeeded in maintaining the peace and prosperity in Parancho that his father built before him, proving their words correct.

- At 15, he is the youngest Alicesoft protagonist to date.
- He is also one of the only Alicesoft protagonists to not be sexually active during his game.
