- Maria Custard was one of the apprentices of Rakishisu, and was known as one of the Four Witches of Custom, specializing in water magic. Ever since Rance saved her in the Custom incident (and took her virginity), she has been in love with him.
- The Custom incident caused her to lose much of her magical powers. Instead, she turned to the technical side, and worked on various technical inventions.
- She runs the "Maria Factory" in Custom, helping with the restoration of the town after the events of Rance 2. She was also the leader of the Custom Defense Force against the Helman invasion of LP0003.
- She's the creator of the Tulip series and as the inventor of Tulip #1, she is worshipped as a goddess by the people of the Tanegashima House.
- She and Masou Shizuka are extremely close friends.
- One of her interests is magic development
