The Mimic is a very tricky and nasty type of monster that appears in mostly abandonded dungeons with abundant moisture and vegetation.
They are slime-like creatures that prefer to live in dark secluded areas and they are actually vegetative monsters. Their viscous body allows them to move with little restraints and adapt to the places they hide with ease.
They are very fond of warm treasure chests to live, which they use like their shells to comfortably live inside. Unfortunately, many adventurers tend to open this chests in search of valuable items but, upon being disturbed, they are immediately attacked by this monster as a result. It's for this reason that they were given the name of Mimics, since they were believed to be monsters that use the chests as baits. However, this also comes handy for them, since raw meat is their favourite meal, so they just happily receive their victims with an eager expression. They are a very despicable race of monsters for humans, due to the annoyance of being attacked by a monster after finding a chest expecting a valuable treasure inside.
Most mimics are green, but there other alternative versions like the Mimimic that is pink, stronger than the average Mimic. They specifically search and hide in more luxurious and beautifully adorned chests, boasting a more appropiate home for their higher status.
