Rance - a warrior, adventurer, detective. He isnt very wise or clever but is pretty strong and very perverted. Though, the ones that have played the latter games of Rance will notice that Rance in this game isn't that bad compared to others. And isn't thinking about perverted things all the time.
Sill - a slave of Rance, who helps him in his adventures as a partner in battlefield and in bed. She was kidnapped by bandits and then sold to Rance, since then she is traveling together with Rance. Is very weak in terms of strength but is good at magic. Very devoted to Rance due to the spell of obedience casted on her by slavers.
Hikari ("Light") - a girl who has mysteriously disappeared. It's her case that Rance has to solve in this game.
Lia - the princess of Leazas. Not very smart, usually treats other people as her personal playthings. Since the time she lost her virginity to Rance she is obsessed with him.
Maris - the maid, secretary, childhood friend of Lia Wise and tricky. Very devoted to Lia.
Kanami - personal ninja of Lia. Does all the dirty or secret jobs that Lia orders her to do. Doesn't like Rance at all.
[edit] Basic Story
The story is pretty simple - Hikari ("Light"), the red hair girl that you see in an opening clip, has been kidnapped. And Rance get the mission from his boss (the bold guy) to investigate the case. Rance is something like a detective in this story. This also turns the whole game more into a detective like exploring than into rpg or more less rpg/strategy to which the gamers of the latter games of the series are used.Rance isn’t alone in his job he has a helper - 16 year old Sill helps him. She actually is Rance's slave. She was from a rich family but alter got kidnapped by some bandit and the sold in an auction. The one who bought her was Rance of course.
Now with her help you (Rance) have to solve this mystery, bring Hikari back and pay back the one's that are at fault.
