Due to the common nature of most passive skills, the passive skills is in its own table.

Note, while it is not listed here, and no exact formula for the game's turn order is known, all skills in the game have a recovery time, which is used in conjunction with the Spd stat to determine how soon the unit will act after using said skill. See here for more details.

Note also that skill of Animal units are not listed, this is because they only have one unique skill, 'Animal attack', which is nothing more than a normal, standard 1.0 x damage attack that cannot hit the back row.

Warrior (武士) Edit

武将突撃 Commander Charge All Special attack preventing enemy counterattack. The first hit (initiated by the commander) deals 20 damage plus 3 damage per commander's level and then the entire unit attacks regularly. If the enemy is guarded by Shikigami, the commander's attack will be blocked,but the follow-up attack will not. Unfortunately, the initial attack doesn't reduce a Foot Soldier's guard rate. Can't be learned.

  1. It appears that if your prison is not over 20 people full, and you've Light Attacked, and then annihilated a capturable unit without using an insta-kill attack on that unit, it will be captured. If the unit is not captureable, but not critical to the story either (e.g. the unit is a generic with Assassinate 2 or something like a Monster), the unit will be killed. If you did use an insta-kill move on the unit, it appears that the effect of Light Attack is negated, and whether the unit is captured, killed or simply routed is left to chance. Interestingly, Light Attack also seems to let you capture or kill more than two units per battle.

同胞の復讐 Fellow Troops' Revenge All No exact formula for the damage done by this move is known, but it appears to be proportional to the unit's troop count, the commander's Atk, and damage suffered by your whole army.
  1. Guard is rendered inactive when a footsoldier unit uses another action besides their Guard Skill on their turn. However, when a Guard Skill is used after Guard was made inactive on a previous turn, they will be added to each other (e.g. Footsoldier with 5 Int attacks with first turn, making 50% Guard inactive. Next turn, Footsoldier uses Ally Guard, resulting in a 150% Guard.)

Musketeer (鉄砲) Edit

NOTE: Pointless for Knight units, since they possess this effect by default, also almost pointless for Monks since they recover all of their troops at the start of each turn.

Themed sets Edit

When upgrading a commander, the skills from one of these sets will be available as a choice. Which of these sets is available depends on the turn and is the same for all commanders. The order in which they appear is Pursuit (1), Generic (2), Money/Random (3), Defensive (0). If you want to know what set is available on your current turn and you don't want to try it out, open your calculator, type in '*turn number* mod 4' and compare with the numbers above.

On the Money/Random turn, warriors, footsoldiers and monks will also be able to choose the Counterattack 1 skill. If a commander already has a skill from the list, that skill will not appear when upgrading on its turn.

Yin Yang Nullify/Diviner Guard Reduces magic damage taken by allied units by 10%, does not stack. The effect will apply even if the unit with the skill is annihilated. Katsuko, Aburako Dousan, has also been seen on captured generics.
Assassination Skill + Gives a 100% success rate when Assassinating non-important characters who have ran out of actions. Gekkou only.
Sticky Ground Increased chance to capture defeated enemy commanders after battle, it is unknown if this is more effective than Defeated Warrior Hunt or if it stacks with it. Masou Shizuka only.
First Move Makes unit more likely to attack first during battle. Seems to only appear on Keikoku and Apostle Madou
