Shou, usually respectfully referred to as "Shou Ky", was the Ky of the town above the Lid of the Kettle of Hell. Born before the world wars, she managed to live to 150 years old, and was well respected and loved by the townsfolk. It is never revealed when exactly she became Ky.
She always was a bit of a nihilist which only got worse with age. Her behavior only tends to change when she is talking to a good friend like Shura or her great great granddaughter Yura who she cares for deeply.
She was already an adept magician before she became Ky. Her specialty was the art of Onmyōdō, but she was well versed in Taoist mysticism as well. She learned how to seal jaki when she became Ky.
Another power of hers was fortune telling which was very accurate, but only used when she was willing. This brought her problems, as many people sought her power for selfish purposes. When they were denied, some tried to have her killed.
In her younger years she travelled through region killing various monsters using her magical skills, it was at this point of her life that she met Shura at age 15 and started travelling with him as she was interested in him.
When she reached 40, she settled down in the city and got married. She still sealed jaki for Shura, but also took on a relatively normal family life for someone in her position.
She was captured by Badb and used to lure Shura so she could kill him. She kept trying to tell Shura to retreat, but he wouldn't listen. She sacrificed herself so he wouldn't die.
This released a huge amount of jaki making Badb nigh invincible. However she wasn't done yet, the title of Ky passed on to Arima who she shared her power with to make it so he could seal Badb's power. When Badb was defeated she finally passed on.
