Character Clear Bonus
Edit
This is an extension to the edit summary I made a few minutes ago. Here's the link to what I was referring to if you haven't found it by now. http://yandere.gray7.com/?page_id=423/sengoku-rance-chat/cleared-character-battle-scene-precedence-order Also, ignore the very last post in that thread. He doesn't understand the point of that list. Aurabolt213 03:04, May 21, 2012 (UTC)
Daidouji Komatsu
Edit
Sorry, to those who've been discussing this. There are no flags to trigger this. This is simply a low-priority event such as Souun's, Seigan's, and et cetera. You have to wait while trying to deplete any event the game can possibly trigger when a turn starts. That's the best possible.
Please don't give doubtful questions such as, "How do you know there are no flags? What if they just haven't been discovered?" This information is right from the Japanese Alice Soft Wiki. The people there have a far better method of discovering workings of the game—they look directly at the game code. Here's what it says, and I already relayed this above.
大道寺小松を捕虜にしておくと発生する冒頭イベント(優先度低)の後、尾張の地域イベント
If anyone happens to know Chinese, check here too. (I don't understand Chinese myself, but someone I know claims the people there are bigger code nerds than the Japanese.)

Character Images
Edit
Are those really necessary? They cause needless scrolling, page-downing, etc. We already have shortcut links in the content box. Aurabolt213 04:17, June 23, 2011 (UTC)
- Fixed grammar/formatting/shortcuts, made instructions concise/consistent, and removed commentaries/spoilers. Excuse me if certain instructions are too concise. Feel free to make them reasonably more detailed. Aurabolt213 00:08, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
- Very nice job! I do believe you got a bit too drastic with some cuts however. Most of all I believe that affection increase information should not have been removed and we should work on completing this information. Not every talk with a character increases affection. This is very important when you are planning your moves (or entire game) ahead. Sometimes you want to talk to a girl before she reaches 7 affection, because if you talk to her at 7 the gauge will reset and you might find yourself needing to fill her to 7 before next step again. On the other hand - sometimes you plan to take the end-game points ability with the last character upgrade only to find out that there is no affection increase in the last step of character clear. Other than that, yet again - good job. Crow mw 09:18, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know what you mean. I'll reference older versions, and then mark events that don't give affection. Again, I realize some parts became too concise. I'm sure what is common sense to me isn't to others. 76.169.38.22 09:43, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
- Bonus Char Elina can be cleared too (from Second Game Captain Bonus). But is not on the List here.
- She's not on the game report, that's why she's not on the list. There are several characters who are in the same case: I once cleared Kuge Kyouko and she was available in Rance's room, but she's not on the list. Though, it may be good to write it.-Yukimusha
- I added that you can also clear "male" characters after changing their sex. --Reid4891 18:37, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- Needs confirmation, but I think underaged/old generic girls (I think there's 1 portrait for each) are not clearable IIRC. Most generic girls are clearable, but "cute" might be a bit misleading in the current description. --EdibleDango 15:36, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

- Some of the characters have optional purple events. Off the top of my head:
- Maria giving Rance the sex ticket
- Maria introducing Kasumi (leave <x NP free before her H-scene? to suppress) ~already mentioned as optional in last version
- YuzumixInukai
- GekkoxOmachi
- The purple event's for the Yuzumi and Gekko seems to be generated as soon as Inukai and Omachi are, respectively, recruited (you can still dismiss them to skip the scenes after recruitment), so they don't fit into any particular steps. Maybe we can just leave a note saying that an extra purple event is required if you have these pairing in your party. EdibleDango 14:42, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
- edit: Gekko also have a scene with Shibata, so you'll have to talk to him twice before his 7Normal event if you have both Shibata and Omachi in your party. --EdibleDango 15:14, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
- For Hojo Soun's character clear, it wasn't necessary for me to raise him to Trust:
- Soun joins after a couple of turns, says he wants to get revenge on Suzaku
- Talked to Soun once
- Suzaku challenged, Soun killed him.
- Talked to Soun and Chara Cleared him.
- For Ogawa Kentarou's character clear, it wasn't necessary for me to raise him to 7 Trust (was on Isoroku route):
- Raised him to 7 Normal and talked to him (did all initial talk events) to raise to Trust.
- Miki ran off.
- Talked to Ogawa Kentarou where he paces around and runs off to search for Miki and Chara Cleared.
Obtaining Characters
Edit
does anyone think it would be reasonable to add how to get some of the more difficult characters somewhere on this page or provide a link to a page that does? For the longest time i did not realize that you needed to completely block Takeda's blitz to unlock an option that would scatter the generals to different countries so that a lucky or patient person could find them and eventually capture them all. Maybe adding a quick note for people like those four, inukai, seigan/genri, and possibly the lezeas/zeth reinforcements would help players out when they are trying to clear everyone. of course, this could also be put on the individual characters' pages but i dont think i have seen any pages that do that. any thoughts on what would be best? --Vorthod 19:44, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
Bug(?) involving the generic musketeers that tanegashima sells.
Edit
I've tried looking online to see if anyone has seen this "feature" (bug?), but it doesn't look like anyone has.... I'm not sure if this should go here, but it's kind of related to character clears as it relates to the affection bonus....
Here it is: you can greatly improve both their Attack and Speed stats simply by using an affection bonus to select Status Up for either Attack or Speed. The stat selected goes to 6 while the other goes to 5 regardless of how low they started. For example, increasing Attack from 1->2 (as it appears in the bonus selection menu) will end up as 5->6 with Speed going up to 5 in the process.
I'm not aware of which other commanders this applies (non-generics, non-muskets, or non-bought muskets), but it certainly applies to the musket units you buy from Tanegashima.
Obviously this is an interesting "feature", and I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed this happening before. I would have liked to try it out on a musketeer unit with the +5000 troops item that takes away 2 from each stat when equipped. Imagine equipping the item, getting 5000 troops, then re-upping the attack and speed to 5 or 6 with the use of 2 affection increasing items. Hax.
